Community Water Dances by Nosara Aquatic Arts
Breathing is one of the first ways we interact with the world as babies. From that first breath out of the womb, a variety of new exchanges and boundaries will arise for us that will help us to define and understand our presence on Earth. Later in life, we continue to use breathing not only as a vital function but also as a way to express and connect with our sensations.
Pleasure, tiredness, anxiety, joy, doubt, deep calm- all of them will be processed also through the breath.
In the water, that type of expression emerges very naturally. Using sounds, long breath holds, sight outs, the circulation of air in the body reorganizes to adapt to this different environment; memories, primary information can resurface.
Dancing in water is for us a way to revisit and rebuild the passage from water to land. Retrace our steps and rehearse the best way of transitioning in and out of the aquatic reality to moving with gravity back and forth.
A way to explore and elaborate moving on and off from solid to mobile foundations, from weight to buoyancy, from action to listening, from vertical to horizontal, from aquatic to air.
No experience needed, bring your water bottle and your best vibes.
