September 14 is Ganesha Chaturthi, the sacred festival celebrating the birth of Ganesha, one of the most beloved forms of the Divine in the Hindu tradition.
Ganesha is traditionally honored at beginnings and thresholds and is associated with wisdom, discernment, prosperity, and our relationship with obstacles. His symbolism offers us a powerful opportunity to reflect: What are we ready to begin? What stands in our way? And what wisdom do we need to move forward?
Join us at Casa Veda for a special evening of Yoga, mythology, mantra, ritual, and community as we explore the teachings held within the stories and symbolism of Ganesha.
This is more than a Yoga class. It is an opportunity to experience Yoga within its larger Vedic roots, to move, listen, learn, chant, reflect, and celebrate together.
During Our Time Together
- Ritual Yoga Sādhana — Move through a Ganesha-inspired practice integrating asana, breath, intention, and symbolism.
- Myth + Storytelling — Discover the stories of Ganesha and explore what his elephant head, broken tusk, large belly, vehicle, and other symbols can teach us about our own lives.
- Mantra — Learn and practice mantra traditionally associated with Ganesha, bringing sound and focused awareness into our sādhana.
- Sankalpa + Intention — Reflect upon the thresholds, beginnings, and obstacles present in your own life and create a meaningful intention for the path ahead.
- Community Celebration — Gather in sangha to honor Ganesha Chaturthi through practice, learning, connection, and shared celebration.
- Prasāda — We will close by sharing something sweet together. You are welcome to bring a small vegetarian offering to share with the community.
No previous knowledge of Ganesha, Hindu mythology, mantra, or ritual is necessary. Come curious. Come as you are.
