Every July 25, Costa Rica celebrates the Annexation of Guanacaste, commemorating the day the Partido de Nicoya chose, by its own will, to become part of Costa Rica in 1824.

Across Guanacaste, communities come alive with parades, marimba music, traditional dancing, rodeos, cultural performances, and delicious local food. It’s a celebration of history, heritage, and the vibrant spirit that makes this region so special.
